Privacy Policy

We collect as little as we can get away with, and we don't sell any of it.

What we collect

Depending on what you do on this site, that may include:

  • When you place an order — your email address, and the name, delivery address and phone number you give us for shipping, along with what you bought.
  • When you create an account — your name, email address, and a password, which is stored scrambled so nobody here can read it.
  • When you subscribe to our emails — your email address, the date, and a copy of the wording you agreed to.
  • When you contact us or apply for a wholesale account — your name, email, phone number if you give one, and your message.
  • When you leave a review — the name you want shown, your rating and review, and optionally your email so we can reply.

What we never see

Your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our systems and we can’t see it, store it, or retrieve it.

Cookies and tracking

Two cookies are needed for the shop to work at all:

  • A cart cookie, so your basket is still there when you come back. It holds nothing but a random identifier.
  • A sign-in cookie, if you have an account, so you stay logged in.

We also use analytics and advertising tools, which set their own cookies and see the pages you visit on this site:

  • Google Analytics — so we can see which products people look at and where visitors come from. It records pages viewed, items added to the basket, and completed orders.
  • Meta Pixel — so we can measure whether our Facebook and Instagram posts bring people here, and show ads to people who have visited. This one shares information about your visit with Meta.

You can stop both by blocking third-party cookies in your browser, or with a tracker-blocking extension. Nothing about the shop stops working if you do — you can still browse, buy and sign in.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the shop. Each one sees only what it needs to do its job, and none of them are permitted to use your information for their own purposes:

  • Stripe — to take payment.
  • Resend — to send order confirmations, gift cards, and password resets.
  • Neon, Vercel and Cloudflare — to store our data, host our photographs, and run the website.
  • Sentry — to tell us when something on the site breaks. If an error happens while you are using the shop, it records what went wrong and what you were doing. Text on the page is masked before it is sent.
  • Google and Meta — the analytics and advertising tools described above.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Under California law, using the Meta Pixel counts as “sharing” personal information for advertising, so we say so plainly rather than hide behind the wording — see below.

Marketing emails

We only email you about new collections and offers if you asked us to. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Order confirmations, gift card deliveries and password resets aren’t marketing — you’ll get those whether or not you’re subscribed, because they’re part of the thing you asked us to do.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as we need them for our accounts and tax obligations. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages you send us are kept while we deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you get back in touch.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email holly@boomdyada.com and we’ll deal with it. We may need to keep records of completed orders even after a deletion request, because we’re legally required to.

If you have an account, you can update your details and change your password yourself from your account page.

If you live in California

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to ask for a copy of it, to ask us to delete or correct it, and not to be treated differently for exercising any of those rights. Everything we collect is listed above.

We never sell personal information. We do share it in the narrow sense California uses: the Meta Pixel passes information about your visit to Meta for advertising. To opt out, block third-party cookies or use a tracker-blocking extension, or email us at holly@boomdyada.com with “Do Not Sell or Share” in the subject and we will handle it for you.

Children

This shop isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us their details, please tell us and we’ll remove them.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes we’ll update the date at the top of this page. For anything at all to do with your privacy, write to us at holly@boomdyada.com or call 330-704-2260.
